Minister of Agriculture Jahad Inaugurate Talesh Timber Cropping Project

Talesh timber cropping project started during Mahmood Hojjati’s visit to Talesh.

According to FRWO’s website, Seyed Isa Mahdavi, Governor on Talesh in the margin of the planting ceremony said that the project aims to protect natural forests in the region by planting alder and popular species for commercial purposes in 242 ha.

He also added that in the first phase 133 hectares will be afforested in a 10 year cycle for timber cropping.

Minister of Agriculture Jahad who symbolically planted alder and popular trees in the project site said that timber cropping is the best way to satisfy the country's need to wood and the needs of wood industry in the region.

Hojjati referring to the huge potential for timber cropping in the region said that this is a new option parallel to kiwi production and can open more export opportunity to world markets.
According to the report, on today's Minister of Agriculture Jahad’s visit to Talesh, a number of local authorities were attended.
