FAO to Continue Coop for Developing Iran Rural Sector

 Representative of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to Iran Rao Matta stressed the fact that FAO will continue its cooperation with Iran regarding sustainable rural development. He also added that FAO is linked with natural resources, environment and sustainable rural development. Matta made the remarks Sunday on the sidelines of visiting Rehabilitation of Forest Landscapes and Degraded Land Project (RFLDL) in South Khorasan Province.
  The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Trust Fund supports the implementation of this project. Matta said that due to the welcome and eagerness of the people of South Khorasan in the rural areas, the RFLDL project is due to extend its duration to another year (2019). Therefore the results of the project will be sent to the Rome office to a proper assessment in order to make a final decision.

Representative of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to Iran said that based on the document signed between FAO and the Iranian government, we should implement RFLDL project in South Khorasan and in Kerman provinces.
Matta referred to Iran good's progress in food safety, optimizing water consumption and preserving natural resources, and said, 'The organization is to continue cooperation with Iran in these cases.'
