People's Cooperation with FRWO is Commendable on the margin of Lake Urmia
According to the report of FRWO's
website, Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests,
Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) who visited desertification
control project in Sheshvan around Ajabshir city- East Azerbaijan province
along with the members of the Commission on Agriculture, Water and Natural
Resources of the Parliament said that in
recent years, the dust storms in the Lake Uremia basin has caused a lot of
problems for the people and farmers of the region and commended the role of people
in conserving the Lake Uremia basin through assisting the enclosure operation.

He also said that FRWO's measures through planting, enclosure, and regeneration operations in rangelands of Sheshvan are prominent, and these measures have contributed to the biological security for the people and farmers in the region.

Mr. Aghaee reiterated that management
of natural resources has no sense without the public participation and mentioned that
the establishment of the plantation in the region is due to the public cooperation
with FRWO, especially in enclosure operation.
Head of FRWO expressed his hope that continued support will be given to FRWO by
the government through the Uremia Lake Restoration Program, the Parliament and
the actual participation of people in the projects.
