UN Climate Change Conference (COP24) to be held in Poland
From 2-14 December 2018, the 24th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP24), hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat, is taking place in Katowice, Poland.

Profound changes in our food systems and along the entire food chain need to take place to prevent temperatures rising and to adapt to, mitigate and build resilience to climate change. Ensuring climate action has a development perspective and is linked to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals is the cornerstone of this transformation.
The adoption of The Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture at COP23 in 2017 re-emphasized the importance of agriculture and food security in the climate change agenda. At COP24, FAO is expected to play a key role providing technical advice to its member countries supporting their involvement in the negotiations.
