Finalization of Forest Cadastre by the end of the year

Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) said on Saturday at the twentieth meeting of the coordination committee on the implementation of watershed management projects that the forest cadastre will be finalized, especially in the northern forests by the end of the year.

According to FRWO's website, Khalil Aghaee emphasized that constructional and mechanical measures for watershed management projects should be completed in all provinces by the late December in order to be able to harvest rain water for exploitation in coming months.

Khalil Aghayi also emphasized that staff experts should travel to the provinces for monitoring and evaluation and report on the progress made in the projects implementation.

He also highlighted the main concern of FRWO in the northern region is forest protection and emphasized the need to fight against forest pests and diseases, enriching forests and afforestation with the participation of local communities .

It is worth mentioning that at this meeting, commander of natural resources guard and directors of Mazandaran and Khuzestan provinces presented a report on the implementation activities from the National Development Fund.
