Head of FRWO visit to Sistan SDS Hotspots

Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) visited the desertification control, water spreading, conservation and plantation operations in Nimrouz in Sistan & Baluchistan province.

According to the FRWO’s website, he also visited desert hotspots in Niatak. Niatak is the main hotspots in Hirmand township that affects Sistan in the most days in a year.

During this visit, Khalil Aghaee reiterated that combating desertification in Khuzestan, South Kerman and Sistan & Baluchistan provinces is high on the agenda of FRWO that must be complemented by mechanical, biomechanical and biological operations in the watershed basins.
