Forest is Central to IWM

Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) said in the 25^th session of coordination committee for IWM implementation that the any progress for IWM implementation rests with the coordination mechanisms between FRWO's Headquarters and provincial departments. 

He emphasized that forest is central to IWM concept in FRWO and priority therefore should be given to afforestation and forest development, with emphasis on plantations in forest zone.

He referred to the special attention of the Supreme Leader to IWM and the recent allocations from the National Development Fund to it and said that funds allocated this year is a blessing for natural resources management therefore outmost care should be taken to manage the resources wisely in line with the plans.

The coordination committee for IWM implementation meets on a weekly basis, and hears the progress reports from relevant provinces.
