FRWO Authorized to Sign Contracts with Local Communities

Khalil Aghayee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) in the 28th session of Coordination Committee for IWM Implementation on Saturday said that based on recent law passed within the sixth Development Program last Wednesday, FRWO is allowed to contract and enter into partnership with the local communities, and cooperatives for the implementation of natural resources activities.

Khalil Aghayee added that the directives for this law has been prepared by a FRWO specialized committee and expressed hope that it would be communicated to FRWO for implementation in the coming days through provincial departments.

Head of FRWO also said that direct support to local communities by FRWO will increase the incentives for wide participation of local communities.
