President Rouhani planted an oak sapling at Rasht Train Station in northern Iran on Arbour Day.
Dr Hassan Rouhani congratulated Arbour Day and said, “Trees, pastures, protecting water resources and the environment are very important for the mankind”.
“Ministry of Agriculture Jihad has taken very good steps for having a greener Iran. Expanding jungles and planting trees, controlling dust through planting saplings and utilising modern irrigation systems are very important issues that are being followed today,” he said.
Dr Rouhani also called on all groups, NGOs, people, farmers and all those who care about the environment to use all their power for planting trees.
