Parliament Speaker Visit IWM projects in Qom Province

Ali Larijani, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran, accompanied by Bahram Sarmast, Governor-General of Qom province, paid a visit to IWM projects scheduled by Natural Resources and Watershed Management (NRWM) Department of Qom Province in Jafarabad and Khalajestan.

According to FRWO’s website, in this visit the Parliament Speaker accompanied by a group of local authorities of Qom province, was closely updated about the status of the Qomrood River and damages caused by the flood to the villages in Jafariyah district and met with the local people there.

Referring to the impacts of IWM projects in reducing recent flood damages and preventing floods in some places, he emphasized the need for wider implementation of these projects to prevent future threats.

In this visit, Taghi Sajadi, Director General of NRWM Department of Qom province, also presented a report on the status of Qomrood River watershed and the source of flood in different parts of Qom province.
