FRWO Exceed the Implementation of Approved Plans

Head of FRWO in the ceremony on the occasion of Nowrouz said that FRWO with the participation of people could exceed the foreseen plans and programmes in natural resources sector.

Khalil Aghaei thanked the FRWO’s staff for their devotion in the implementation of IWM projects and added that the development projects especially Natural Resources ones are normally time-consuming, but IWM projects started last year, finished on time due to the hard work of FRWO staff.

He referred to the impact of IWM projects in mitigating flood impacts and damages and said that the implementation of IWM interventions including plantation, conservation and biological and biomechanical measures have proved the notion that IWM activities decrease flood damages and soil erosion as witnessed by the local people and authorities in the recent flood event.

Khalil Aghaei concluded that the priority of FRWO in the New Year focus on the conservation of forests and rangelands in Hyrcanian and Zagros regions and the continuation of IWM projects.
