Six Trillion RLs to Be Spent on Forestry in Zagros provinces
Deputy Minister of Jahad Agriculture and Head of FRWO who was visiting Ilam province said that six trillion RLs will be spent this year on forestry development in Zagros provinces.
According to FRWO website, Mr. Aghaee who was visiting Ilam province for afforestation and IWM projects said that the focus of FRWO’s current year activities is on sustainable management of Zagros forests, and 6 trillion RLs will be funded in order to maintain, rehabilitate and develop forests in the Zagros.
He added that so far, 40 million hectares of cadastre survey is done, which plays an important role in consolidating ownership rights of the people, and resolving the disagreements between the government and the people.
The Deputy Minister of Jahad Agriculture announced the executive operation of IWM projects implemented in more than 600 sites last year, will increase to 1,200 hectares sites this year.
He said Ilam province was ranked first in the country in terms of afforestation last year and has so far planted 8,000 hectares of plantation in forest and border areas in the recent years.
Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed Management department of Ilam Province said that 25 thousand hectares of new plantations have been planted in Mehran last year, and added that 14 thousand hectares of plantations will be carried out this year.
Reza Ahmadi reminded that with the consent of the Deputy Minister of Jahad Agriculture, 10 billion RLs are allocated for the development of nursery in Iyvan.
It is worth mentioning that head of FRWO visited Ilam, afforestation and irrigation and nursery plans as well as IWM projects in some cities of Ilam province including Ilam, Arghavan, Iyvan, Mehran and Dehloran cities, during his two-day trip to Ilam province.
