Special Support of Hamedan Governor General for IWM

The Governor General of Hamedan province gave a special support to natural resources management and said that we do believe in IWM concept for exiting from drought situation, and do our best for the realization of IWM.

According to the website of Natural Resources and Watershed Management Department of Hamedan province; In this meeting, the Governor General of Hamedan province appreciated the attention of head of FRWO to the implementation of water management plans and demanded special attention to the natural resources of the province. He also added that considering the capacities that exist in the province's natural resources, there is a need for more budgets to be allocated for the development of IWM projects in order to strengthen underground aquifers, prevent soil erosion, increase water storage and prevent flood damages.

Seyyed Saeed Shahrokhi, the Governor General of Hamedan province, emphasized the importance of natural resources in sustainable development, especially in Hamedan province and said today natural resource management requires a comprehensive program and IWM framework provide a unique platform for addressing water scarcity and flood control issues.

The Governor General said that Hamedan was the second province in the country in terms of volume of precipitation. However, due to the implementation of watershed management projects in ​​the province, we could prevent the flood impacts very well. Therefore, we strongly support natural resources management within IWM concept and pay a special attention to the management of natural resources in the province.
