IWM Receive the Parliament's Special Support

The spokesman for the parliament's Agriculture, Natural resources and Water committee said that it is decided that the members of the committee visit the implemented projects and report back to the committee for further supervision and support to IWM plans.

According to FRWO’s website, Nourmohammad Torbatinejad, speaking with media said that the Agriculture Committee meeting held on Sunday with the presence of Mr. Aghaei, head of FRWO and the representatives of the Ministry of Jahad-e-Agriculture, Ministry of Energy, The Research Center of the Parliament and the Court of Audit, the National Development Fund and the Planning and Budget Organization reviewed the achiements of  Ministry of Jahad-e-Agriculture and the implementation of IWM projects . 

The MP noted that in the meeting mention was made that the area of ​​the watersheds of the country is 125 million hectares, of which about 20 percent (26 million hectares) of watersheds are in the detailed study phase and 11 million hectares is in the program implementation phase.

Torbetinejad said that it was decided that in the IWM programs should  target enhancing vegetation cover, protecting natural resources and forests, balancing livestock with rangelands' capacities, and attracting people's and NGOs participation.
