The Governor General of Fars met with the Head of FRWO

Enayat-Allah Rahimi, governor general of Fars province, in a meeting with Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) said that IWM projects will be implemented with the priority of flood-prone areas in Fars province.

Referring to the agreement between Fars Province Governorate and the FRWO on the implementation of memorandum on water management plans, Enayat-Allah Rahimi asked for accelerating the allocation process of the funds.

The governor general of Fars province also said that with regard to the vast expanses of forests and rangelands in the province, further protection measures are needed, particularly fighting forest fires.

Head of FRWO also expressed his satisfaction with IWM implementation in Fars province, and pointed out that the governor generals, governors, and village councils have proved that they are the honest helpers of the natural resources.

He underlined the use of public participation and local communities' capacities  as a key element in preventing the occurrence of fires in forests and rangelands, especially in Fars province.
