FRWO and China Expand Cooperation on Desertification Control
A group of Chinese experts from the Gansu Desert Control Research Institute (GDCRI) visited the Shahdad and Bam desertification control projects in Kerman province on Tuesday.

Farhad Sardari, Director General of Desert Affairs Bureau of FRWO, who accompanied this group on a trip to Kerman province, told the FRWO’s website that the five-member delegation, were invited to Iran by the University of Tehran to visit FRWO’s achievements in combating desertification. He also added that a trilateral memorandum on desert control cooperation will be discussed during this visit with GDCRI and University of Tehran.
Sardari pointed out that China has gained a lot of experiences and knowledge in combating desertification due to serious desertification. Therefore, exchange of information with China can be beneficial in addressing the issues of dust storms and wind erosion.
According to the report, the delegation will visit various plans in some of the desert provinces during 10 days of their stay in Iran that serves as input to the trilateral memorandum of understanding.
