Wild Fire Directive Circulated by Head of FRWO

Wild Fire Directive was circulated by Head of FRWO in a move to boost the protection of natural resources against wild fires.

According to FRWO’s website, Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) referring to the beginning of fire season in Iran and need for preparedness of the provincial departments in preventing fires in the forests and rangelands, said that the memorandum signed with National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO) for establishing a comprehensive fire prevention management platform for forest and rangeland fires build a robust framework to manage existing potentials in the province in an effectively and timely manner to response fire emergencies.

Aghaee emphasizing the continuation of training of natural resources staff highlighted the need for identifying hot spots and said that fire preventions operations should take advantage of the capacities of all shareholders including local communities, rangers, environmental NGOs, and associations.
