Head of FRWO and deputy of DoE to Discuss the Exclusive Enclosure
Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO), and Dr. Hamid Zohrabi, Deputy Head of Natural Environment and Biodiversity of Department of Environment (DoE) met at FRWO Headquarters and discussed the issue of assignment exclusive enclosure.
, the According to FRWO's website, the High Council of Environment approved five zones outside the protected areas in 2016 to be assigned to real persons and legal entities, local communities and cooperatives as exclusive enclosures aimed at the promotion of wildlife protection against illegal hunting based on approved conservation plans.
In this meeting, Head of FRWO emphasized the need for legal and technical arrangements, based on which, DoE must receive necessary guarantees from the contractors that they pose no claim for the ownership right of lands and properties concerned in the region and they should apply for permit from FRWO to carry out any operations in the assigned land.
Also, according to the report, DoE should identify the zones for enclosure in coordination with FRWO, have them ratified at the High Council of Environment, to be assigned to qualified contractors through legal formalities.
