Head of FRWO Emphasizes the Need for Wider Involvement of State Agencies in NR Conservation and Development

Head of FRWO called for Greater involvement of state agencies in natural resource conservation and development.

According to FRWO’s website, Mr. Khalil Aghaee Head of FRWO in a meeting with local authorities in Damavand and Firoozkoh district near Tehran, emphasized the need for further involvement of state agencies in natural resource conservation and development.  

He said based on law the ownership of forest parks rest with FRWO and park's operation is transferred to municipalities. Therefore, municipalities are expected to provide quality services to people. 

Mr. Khalil Aghaee in another part of his statement referred to allocations from National Development Fund to IWM projects and highlighted that based on law, provinces that finance resource from provincial resources for IWM up-scaling will be co-financed by FRWO.

He reiterated that based on Para B of Article 29 of Sixth National Development Plan, local people and NGOs can be contracted by FRWO for natural resources and IWM projects in line with resilient economy.
