Head of FRWO Emphasizes Independence of Forestry Plans to Wood Harvest

Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) said that the alternative plan is the road map for FRWO for independence of forestry plans to logging.

According to FRWO’s website, Mr. Khalil Aghaee Head of FRWO at the 9^th session of working group meeting on sustainable management in Hyrcanian region mandated the High Council of FRW (HCF) to invite experts with due respect to their dignity to present his/her ideas on Buxus trees conservation and solutions for their revival.

Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) thanked The Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran (ICHTO), DoE, FRWO, and UNESCO National Commission for inscribing the Hyrcanian forests in the UNESCO World Heritage list and said that after adding the Hyrcanian forests to the UNESCO World Heritage list, the responsibilities of FRWO are doubled both in domestic and global levels. Therefore, FRWO stands ready to perform its innate responsibility in order to protect the Hyrcanian forests in line with FRWO's organizational goals.

Head of FRWO said that the treatment of Buxus trees blight is one of the top priorities of FRWO and asked the High Council of Forest and department for forests of FRWO to utilize all ways and means to resolve the issue with the collective wisdom of all forest experts in the fields of Hyrcanian forests and Buxus hyrcana trees.
