 Forest Expansion a Prerequisite for Sustainable Development
Mr. Atsushi Hisamichi, Team Leader of JICA project on "Capacity Development for Participatory Forest and Rangeland Management in Upper Karoon Basin" was received by Mr. Khalil Aghaee Deputy Minister and Head of FRWO. In this meeting, Mr. Hisamichi presented a report about the watersheds management and forestry in Japan.

Mr. Atsushi Hisamichi, Team Leader of JICA project on "Capacity Development for Participatory Forest and Rangeland Management in Upper Karoon Basin" was received by Mr. Khalil Aghaee Deputy Minister and Head of FRWO. In this meeting, Mr. Hisamichi presented a report about the watersheds management and forestry in Japan.

According to FRWO’s website, in his report, he referred to replacing oil for firewood in Japan in the 1950s, to stop the forest destruction and deforestation. 

Mr. Aghaee, Head of FRWO thanked the presentation and said that plantation movement is essential for conservation of ecosystems and sustainable development for the nations and governments in the world today.

Aghaee also added that communication on forest-related issues between countries is a an indispensable step for improving the human condition.

Khalil Aghaee described the Iranian and Japanese people as two hard-working and diligent nations and noted that governments should be serious about developing forests and green spaces per capita. Aghaee said that plantation programmes for the increase of forest per capita in Japan and any parts of the world is blessing that benefit all living beings.
