People Have a Central Role in FRWO's Roadmap

Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) at the National Workshop on enhancing the Effectiveness of Educational, Extensional and Participatory Activities in Alborz province on Saturday said: “Natural resources are becoming stronger through the participation of people day by day.”

According to FRWO’s website, Mr. Khalil Aghaee Head of FRWO with emphasis on public participation added that “extensional work to mobilize participatory processes is in the forefront of natural resources management; that in turn should contribute to voluntary involvement of local people in implementing the natural resources and IWM projects.”

Mr. Aghaee also said that the result of extension work at field level should direct FRWO's technical departments in the rangeland, forests, deserts and watershed sectors to actual sites with high participation potential for the implementation of natural resources and IWM projects.

Head of FRWO said: “people have a central role in FRWO's roadmap for natural resources development” and concluded: “People's participation in natural resources management means when they tell us where to work”.
