Head of FRWO Visits IWM Projects in Mazandaran

Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) visited IWM projects in Sari - Mazandaran Province.

According to FRWO’s website, in this visit, Mr. Khalil Aghaee accompanied by Dr. Abbasali Nobakht, Deputy for Forestry, Mr. Afrasiyabi, Deputy for Conservation and Land Affairs, Abbas Sami'e Director General of Public Relations & International Affairs Bureau of FRWO, Mr. Seyed Mohsen Mousavi Takami, Director General of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Mazandaran-Sari, visited IWM projects in Sarshakhegir dam near Behshahr city.

Khalil Aghaee, during his visit to the region said the dam which was constructed by Mazandaran Water & Sewers Company, and complemented by FRWO with IWM operation in upstream, has had an excellent impact on control of recent flood that occurred early spring this year.

Deputy Minister and Head of FRWO also visited the IWM Project in Rostamkala River in Behshahr suburb, whose budget was allocated from the National Development Fund in 2018 and talked with local foresters

It should be noted that at the end of this visit, the head of FRWO had a meeting with local authorities on sustainable management of Hyrcanian forests.
