Governor General of North Khorasan Vows to Develop NR plans

The Governor General of North Khorasan Province emphasized the implementation and development of IWM projects at the provincial level during a meeting with Khalil Aghaee, Head of FRWO on Saturday.

According to FRWO’s website, in this meeting, Mohammad Ali Shojaei the Governor General of North Khorasan said: “Considering that the province's is prone to both floods and water scarcity, development of IWM projects is the only viable strategy for combating the crisis”.

Shojaei added: “Based on resources allocated from the National Development Fund to IWM projects in North Khorasan, we are formulating plans for the development of natural resource projects”.

He referred to the dispute between people and FRWO over the issue of land ownership in the province and said: “A committee headed by the General Governorate is formed to tackle the disputes with people in collaboration with Housing Foundation and FRWO to permanently resolve problems amicably”.

Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) highlighted the importance of IWM in the country and said: “The Supreme Leader, the government and the Parliament have paid special attention to the issue of IWM, and the allocation of budget from the National Development Fund in two recent years (2018-19) marks the importance of IWM”.

The Head of FRWO, emphasizing the timely implementation of IWM and Natural Resources management projects in North Khorasan, said that 360 billion RLs from National Development Fund is allocated to IWM projects in North Khorasan Province, and called for co- financing from provincial resources to complete natural resources projects in a timely manner.

According to this report, Dr. Azizi, the representative of Shirvan and Dr. Ghorbani, the representative of Bojnourd in the Islamic Consultative Assembly who accompanied the Governor General, emphasized in a brief statement, the need for implementation of natural resources projects in their constituencies, and called for accelerated efforts from FRWO to finance the these projects in North Khorasan.

In the end of the meeting, Hassan Vahid, Director General of Natural Resources Department of Northern Khorasan, also presented a report on the allocated budget from National Development Fund for IWM projects implementation and the natural resources management in the province.
