Head of FRWO Opened Flood-Control Projects in Qom

According to FRWO’s website Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) and Bahram Sarmast Governor General of Qom province opened four new IWM projects on Sunday in Qom. These projects consist of 15 concrete flood control structures worth 35 billion RLs. 

Director General of natural resources department in Qom said in the past three years, some 185 flood control structures have been built in six villages of the province.” 

Mohammad Taghi Sajjadi also added that the similar activities have been carried out in other parts of the province to support agricultural farms and facilities.

Having said that so far 300 of flood control structures are constructed in Qom province, he concluded that these projects have had positive impacts both on flood control and recharge of Qanats and has increased the harvested water volume to six fold.
