IWM to Enrich Water Resources
According to FRWO’s website, Khalil Aghaee, Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) in his visit to Zanjan province accompanied by Dr. Fathollah Haghighi, Governor General of Zanjan opened Zaker IWM project on Tuesday.

Based on the report, the volume of earthworks carried out is about 125 thousand cubic meters with a budget of more than 18 billion RLs. According to the report, the project can recharge an additional 6 million cubic meters of rainwater to aquifers annually.

The project in addition to recharging the existing wells in the region and reducing the flood discharge of Zaker River will recharge the aquifers of the Zaker-Bonab plain and provide drinking water for Zanjan.

It is noteworthy that the Head of FRWO in his visit to Zanjan province visited also IWM Projects in Abhar region, Gharecharian research station, and Kushkan nursery.
