The First Phase of IWM Projects Started in South Khorasan
With the presence of Minister of Agriculture-Jahad, the construction of 100 watershed management and recharge structures in the framework of IWM national plan, started in an area of 45,000 hectares in South Khorasan province.
According to FRWO’s website, Khalil Aghaee Deputy Minister and Head of Forests, Range and Watershed Management Organization (FRWO) on the sidelines of the ceremony told the reporters: “Last year, IWM projects were implemented at six thousand sites across the country with a total value of 7000 trillion RLs”.
He announced that more than 15,000 billion RLs is allocated to IWM national plan throughout the country this year, and said that the executive projects will be implemented in 1033 watershed catchments in 380 cities and in more than 10,000 pilot sites.
He added: “During meeting with province's officials, it was agreed to earmark 600 billion RLs of budget for implementation of IWM projects in South Khorasan province of which 260 billion RLs is allocated for the first phase of IWM projects”.
