Role of Women in IWM Emphasized

According to FRWO’s website, the 30^th session of coordination committee for IWM implementation chaired by Khosro Shahbazi, Deputy Head for Watershed - FRWO was held at FRWO Headquarters on Saturday with the agenda of women participation in implementation of natural resources and watershed management plans.

In this meeting, a progress report of Semnan province on public participation particularly role of women in IWM projects and alternative livelihood including development of medicinal plants, cultivation of saffron, beekeeping and rangeland reclamation projects was presented with due consideration to the fact that Semnan province has been pioneer in utilizing the capacity of women in natural resources projects.

The meeting decided that the members of committee to visit other provinces in the field of public participation in order to identify and upscale success stories in natural resource sector to other provinces.
