FRWO to Draw up a Road Map for Natural Resource Management

According to FRWO’s website, the 31th session of coordination committee for IWM implementation chaired by Khosrow Shahbazi, Acting Head of FRWO was held at FRWO Headquarters on Saturday with the agenda of use of indigenous knowledge and world-class technology to protect Anfal and natural resources.

 In this meeting, Dr. Shahbazi said: “Today, Forest Guard faces with various challenges in natural resources protection, and prevention of land grabbing and degradation of public lands. Therefore, the department should be equipped with a surveillance system, in order to prevent illegal activities before the offense occurs”.

He described the conservation, restoration, development and utilization of natural resources as the main tasks of FRWO and said that people's participation should be enhanced in FRWO's activities so that optimum conservation could be attained. He said that natural resources are facing with various challenges including climate change, therefore we need to have a accurate analysis of the current situation and based on that revise our methods because we might have applied old fashion methods that may no longer work.
