IWM Revives Qanat Network

According to FRWO’s website, the 34^th session of coordination committee for IWM implementation chaired by Dr. Khosrow Shahbazi, Acting Head of FRWO was held at FRWO Headquarters on Saturday with the agenda of IWM contribution to recharging Qanats’ water resources.

In this meeting, Dr. Shahbazi said that IWM is an applied discipline for management and sustainable utilization of bio-resources and since that urban watershed management is branch of IWM, it is an integral part of strategic management of metropolitan areas as well.

He noted that the Supreme Leader firmly maintains that IWM interventions contribute to the development of vegetation cover which is supported by scientific evidences. The President also pays especial attention to IWM projects among the high-priority national projects that proves the importance of IWM.
