FRWO Appreciates the Parliament’s Support

According to FRWO’s website, Dr. Khosrow Shahbazi Acting Head of FRWO met and conferred in separate meetings with Khadijeh Rabiee MP of Broujen constituency and also with Seyyed Razi Nouri MP of Shoosh constituency on Sunday in FRWO Headquarters.

In this meeting, Dr. Shahbazi emphasizing the vital ecosystem functions of forests and rangelands appreciated the Parliament for giving full support to the implementation of conservation and IWM plans across the country. Referring to the allocation of budget from the National Development Fund by the Supreme Leader for the implementation of IWM projects, he reminded that this has doubled the responsibility of FRWO for continuation of IWM measures and vowed to employ all capacities of FRWO in this regard.

In this meeting, Ms. Khadijeh Rabiei, MP of Broujen constituency, gave a short report about the critical condition of water tables and shortage of fresh water due to low precipitation in the region and the needs of local communities and demanded FRWO to allocate more budgets for the implementation of IWM projects particularly the construction of Imam Ghase earth dam for development of medicinal herbs in her constituency.

Dr. Khosrow Shahbazi Acting Head of FRWO in another meeting with Mr. Seyyed Razi Nouri MP of Shoosh constituency referred to the issue of recent flash- flood in Khuzestan and said that the has seriously damaged Khuzestan's infrastructures. He added that the implementation of IWM projects in upper parts of the dams and dredging operation of rivers in due time, can reduce flash-flood damages to a great extent.
