President Stressed on Wood Farming Development

President Hassan Rouhani attended the 34^th ceremony on technology in agriculture to pay tribute to the technological progress in agriculture sector on Tuesday.

According to FRWO’s website, in this ceremony Dr. Rouhani emphasized the need for development of wood farming to supply raw materials for production of various wood-based products including paper. He also highlighted the capacity of the country for wood farming development and expressed satisfaction over the current trend.

President Rouhani referred to the high capacity of the Caspian provinces based on a recent study and said the revenue of wood farming is as much as rice income and even more.

He added that soil and water are two valuable assets that should be simultaneously conserved. However, the vital role of soil especially in agriculture sector should not be diminished. 

Agricultural Education and Promotion Messaging System, dubbed as PAT, also started operation with the aim of quick and timely transfer of educational messages in President Rouhani’s presence. 

Eng. Abbas Keshavarz, Acting Minister of Agriculture Jahad accompanied by Dr.Khosrow Shahbazi Acting Head of FRWO, visited the fair for the technological achievements and capabilities of Iran’s agriculture sector. In this ceremony, 20 research institutes under the Agricultural Research, Education and Promotion Organization displayed their latest achievements. The Acting Minister of Agriculture also awarded 13 best experts in the field of natural resource management.
