Ministry of Petroleum Agrees to Develop Green Spaces in South Pars Economic Zone

The joint meeting of FRWO and Ministry of Petroleum was held at FRWO Headquarters on Tuesday with the agenda of development of green spaces of the South Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone in Asalouyeh.

In this meeting, the two sides emphasized the development of green areas in these areas.

According to FRWO’s website, the meeting chaired by Khosrow Shahbazi, Acting Head of FRWO was held with Mr. Mohammad Reza Shamsaei the Petroleum Minister's Development Adviser and Supervisor of Oilfield Development Plans, aimed at expansion of green spaces in the South Pars region.  

Dr. Shahbazi emphasized the guidelines of the Supreme Leader as to “the conservation of natural resources must become a public norm” and said "The project aims to develop green spaces in the oil-rich areas of Bushehr, and thus improve air quality, water resources and control soil erosion.

In this meeting, Dr. Ali Aosat Montazeri, advisor of Petroleum Development Plans emphasized the importance of vegetation cover and green space development in oil-rich areas and reiterated that the contract for afforestation operation in Special Economic Zones and oil-rich areas of Bushehr as a social responsibility is finalized and Ministry of Petroleum is fully committed to its full implementation.
