High Council Members Met with Acting Head of FRWO

The Head and Members of the High Council of FRWO met with the newly appointed Acting of FRWO on Tuesday.

According to FRWO's website, in this meeting, Dr. Massoud Mansour considered the circulation of information prerequisite to decision making at FRWO and emphasized that the High Council as the scientific and technical authorized body of FRWO should supervise and monitor the activities and plans of FRWO.

Dr. Mansour also called on the High Council that for the effective management of the Hyrcanian forests, to approve the terms of reference of managers to be posted for each 104 watersheds in the northern forests so that the alternative conservation plan can be gradually put into operation.

Acting Head of FRWO further emphasized the implementation of Article 1 of the Law on Preservation and conservation, and noted: "This article mandates FRWO to determine the rare species and preserve them in conserved areas."

The meeting decided to form a working group led by the High Council to review the effectiveness of FRWO's plans and monitor and guide strategies.

In the end, it was also decided that the High Council submit its programs for 2020 to the Head of FRWO.
