FRWO and NAO to Join Forces to Manage Rangelands

Acting Head of FRWO met and conferred with the Head of Nomadic Affairs Organization (NAO) on Tuesday evening about the management of rangelands, livelihood of nomadic households and conservation of rangelands.

According to FRWO's website, Dr. Mansour, Acting Head of FRWO and Engineer Qandali Head of NAO discussed wide range of issues regarding conservation of rangelands based on principles of sustainable development and conservation.

In this meeting, the two sides highlighted the need for quantitative and qualitative improvement of rangeland ecosystems, updating the nomad database, rangeland tenure and customary rights and cadastral survey, alternative livelihood for nomadic community, and the implementation of migration and grazing management systems and agreed to prepare a joint guideline for the management of affairs in this area.
