Acting Head of FRWO said that IWM is the FRWO's approach to natural resources and any intervention in forest, rangeland, and desertification control domains must be carried out within IWM.

According to FRWO's website, the second session of the coordination committee for IWM implementation chaired by Dr. Masoud Mansour was held at FRWO Headquarters on Sunday in the new Iranian year with the agenda of hearing the final synthesis report of allocated budget in 2019 as well as the allocation of budget in 2020. In this meeting Dr. Masoud Mansour noted: "The responsibility of Headquarters is to devise strategies and general policies of the sector, and the main policy of FRWO is to avoid isolation and attain integration in natural resources management within IWM approach."

He added that FRWO's duty is to monitor and evaluate the implementation of projects in the provinces from technical, quantitative and qualitative aspects, after the operational activities are carried out based on studies approved by the technical committees.

He noted that the budget of the National Development Fund (NDF) will be allocated to the provinces based on defined indexes this year, and the provinces have to submit their proposals to FRWO's Headquarters based on biological, mechanical and biomechanical operations.

Acting Head of FRWO called for more accuracy and precision in M&E process, and stated that a committee consisting of the legal and financial Bureaus supervises the contracts' legal norms and formalities, and the compliance of costs with the performance.

He called on the High Council of FRWO to prepare a terms of reference for two-purpose and multi-purpose plant species so that the provincial technical committees could select the right species to be planted based on their climatic conditions.

Dr. Mansour emphasized: "Every natural resource projects should have a geographic coordinates code attached to a digital map that specifies the exact place of projects on earth, which is consequently a requirement for approval of the coordination committee for IWM implementation and the allocation of budget to provinces. The requirement should be observed in a systematic manner in all natural resource projects at national level. "
