FRWO and ANREO to Expand Joint Cooperation
Acting Head of FRWO in a meeting with the Head of Agricultural and Natural Resources Engineering Organization (ANREO), pointed out the need to take advantage of ANREO's consultancy capacity and noted that FRWO welcomes any arrangement to use consultancy services of qualified members of ANREO relating to the preparation, supervision and implementation of natural resources projects, which will both add to technicality in implementation and prevent the monopoly of certain privileged companies in this area.
According to FRWO's website, Dr. Masoud Mansour in this meeting which was held at FRWO's Headquarters on Monday, with reference to the"9 in 99 initiative" in 2020 said the initiative is a framework that brings together 9 priority activities in 4 priority areas for implementation.
Acting Head of FRWO emphasized: "FRWO welcomes the capacity of ANREO in implementing the initiative in natural resources management including wood farming, rangeland management and medicinal herbs development."
He also referred to land revenue collection system and said: "The records with regard to natural resources management plans and contracts need to be updated regularly to enable FRWO to monitor plans and collect land revenues in aystematic way."
Dr. Mansour added: "Rangelands with an area of more than 80 million hectares has a considerable economic potential that can be tapped with emphasis on medicinal herbs development and processing industry to improve the livelihood of local communities."
He reiterated that this year FRWO has planned to develop medicinal herbs cultivation in 50,000 hectares of natural resources arena in the framework of rangeland management plans.
Dr. Mansour said "The exploitation of Caspian forests has been banned since the enforcement of the logging ban initiative in 2017 and based on the timeframe; the alternative plan will be gradually implemented in 2020 that can be platform for a joint cooperation between FRWO and ANREO in forest sector."
Acting Head of FRWO cited the wood farming and exploitation of by-products in forests and rangelands, as a huge capacity and noted: "FRWO has made extensive plans to develop wood farming this year, which has been named the "Year of Leap in Production" by Supreme Leader."
