FRWO to Take All Capacities to Establish the Natural Resources Development Funds (NRDF)

Acting Head of FRWO cited the establishment of the Natural Resources Development Funds (NRDF) as one of the basic strategies and the realization of slogan of FRWO in 2020 for a leap in production and said: "We will take our all efforts to establish and strengthen the Natural Resources Development Funds (NRDF) in all provinces."

According to FRWO's website, Dr. Masoud Mansour in a video conference with Managing Director of NRDF Holding Company, Director Generals of NRWDs in provinces, and Managing Directors of NRDFs, which was held on Tuesday, said: "FRWO is planning to exploit the existing legal capacity to establish and expand NRDF offices in more provinces aimed at mobilizing the participation of local communities and NGOs in natural resource projects, as one of basic strategies and the realization of slogan of FRWO in 2020 for a leap in production.

He expressed his hope that by renewed efforts of all stakeholders this year, a major step would be taken in strengthening existing NRDFs and launching new ones and announced: "FRWO is planning to support the 10 existing NRDFs in the provinces and to open up 4 more NRDF offices in provinces in 2020."

He also invited the leading provinces to share their experiences with other provinces and reiterated: "According to law, FRWO is mandated to implement natural resource projects using the capacities of non-governmental sector and the participation of local communities.

Dr. Massoud Mansour emphasized: "It is our legal duty to involve people in implementing natural resource projects. In this regard, the cooperatives and NGOs play a more active role in natural resources management. "

In another part of the meeting, Dr. Mansour mentioned the establishment of the NRDF steering committee in FRWO as a timely action to further support the process and in this connection, appointed the members of the steering committee.

In this meeting, Mr. Razavi-Ardakani, Managing Director of NRDF Holding Company thanked FRWO for its due attention to role of the fund and said NRDFs provide an enabling environment for the enhanced involvement of local communities and viability of their projects and activities in the field of natural resources.

In the final part of this meeting, Mr. Razavi-Ardakani added: "NRDF as a non-governmental organization can facilitate the achievement of FRWO policies ".
