FRWO and IRIB to Promote Awareness Raising Programs on Fire Prevention

Acting Head of FRWO ‏in a letter addressed to the Head of IRIB, called for collaboration and production of programs that can raise public awareness about natural resources and the prevention of forest and rangeland fires.

According to FRWO's website, Dr. Masoud Mansour in a letter to Dr. Abdul-Ali Ali-Asgari, Head of The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), wrote: "The amount of precipitation in spring promises the revival of nature and abundance of vegetation in meadows that might in turn predispose these areas to fire by rising temperature in summer."

In his letter Dr. Mansour reiterated that one of the most important factors contributing to wildfires in the natural resources is the negligence and non-observance of safety tips by tourists and local people. In this regard, awareness raising programs should be considered for the public participation in the prevention and extinguishing of fires in forests and rangelands by IRIB.
