FRWO Emphasized the Need for Scientific Capacities of ISRM in Natural Resource Management

Head of FRWO emphasized that FRWO should use the capacities of scientific associations in natural resource management

According to FRWO's website, Dr. Masoud Mansour, in a meeting with members and Board of Directors of Iranian Society of Range Management (ISRM) which was held at FRWO's Headquarters on Wednesday, called for the establishment of a working group composed of representatives of FRWO and ISRM to review weaknesses and strengths and provide practical solutions.

He emphasized the need to revise range management plans, and said: "The traditional range management plans need to be updated based on integrated and multi-purpose approaches and FRWO is determined to prepare management plans for all rangelands." 

Dr. Mansour also reiterated that based on the target, all forest reserves will be managed under management plans by the end of the year

In this meeting, Eng. Tarahom Behzad, Director General of Rangeland Affairs Bureau (RAB) of FRWO welcomed the expansion of collaboration with ISRM and said: "In the last two years, FRWO has developed medicinal plantations in 200,000 hectares of rangelands, which produced a revenue of 90 billion RLs.

It is worth mentioning that Dr. Azarnivand, Head of ISRM, and Dr. Farahpour, Dr. Arzauni, Dr. Zahedi, Dr. Motamedi and Engineer Khadem, members of the Board of Directors of ISRM, expressed their views on management of rangeland and called for the expansion of specialized and technical cooperation with FRWO.
