Forest Guard Enhancement is the Priority of FRWO

In the second council meeting of FRWO that held virtually at FRWO’s Headquarters, Head of FRWO emphasized the need to improve the structure of Forest Guard is one of the priorities of FRWO.

According to FRWO’s website, Dr. Massoud Mansour in the second council meeting of FRWO, which was held virtually at FRWO’s Headquarters, called for the enhanced communication and contact with the Parliament, unions, CBOs, universities and effective presence among people.

Dr. Mansour also referred to the achievements of FRWO and progress made in the implementation of IWM, SDS control, wood farming, afforestration and called for serious attention to and contact with the media for favorable reflection of activities.

He also referred to the development of orchards in steep slopes in the Sixth Development Plan, and said: "The plan mainly targets the development of low-yield rain-fed areas and do not intend to transfer public lands to private owners. As for public lands, there is a special natural resources plan with emphasis on cultivation of species such as walnuts, European pear, bitter almond and barberry in order to fulfill our obligations for natural resources management in these areas.

Massoud Mansour also emphasized the implementation of FRWO pivotal plans and the realization of 9 in 99 initiatives in 2020 and added that based on the initiative timber farming should be developed in 30,000 hectare this year that requires using the capacity of both public and private lands. He noted that arrangements have been made to provide incentives to contractors through provision of free seedlings, the provision of facilities and the gradual guaranteed purchase of wood by the wood industries for the development timber farming.
