The Forests of Northern Iran save 3.6 Billion Cubic Meters of Water Annually
Abbas-Ali Nobakht, Deputy Head for Forestry - FRWO, emphasized the need for the protection of the country's forests and said that the forests of northern Iran save 3.6 billion cubic meters of water annually and play a vital role in aquifers recharge.
According to FRWO’s website, Abbas-Ali Nobakht, Deputy Head for Forestry - FRWO in the sidelines of the maneuver and exercises to combat Illegal logging of timber held Sunday in Ramian – Golestan said that FRWO holds this maneuver to consolidate Joint Collaboration between relevant agencies in preserving natural resources especially in northern provinces.
He noted that FRWO's great mission is presevation of natural resources and in this regard, as well as biological and biomechanical operations, development, rehabilitation, and enrichment operations in more than 232,000 hectares of rangeland, desert and forest lands of the country are underway.
