The 31st Session of Sustainable Management of Hyrcanian Forest Committee was Held in FRWO

 Head of FRWO emphasized: “FRWO is committed to put an end to wood smuggling in country’s forests”.

According to FRWO’s website, the 31^st session of Sustainable Management of Hyrcanian Forest Committee presided over by Dr. Masoud Mansour, Deputy Minister and Head of FRWO, was held online with the agenda of intensification of the conservation measures in natural resources and review of progress made in the “Hyrcanian Sustainable Natural Resources Conservation Plan" (HSNRCP) on Saturday at FRWO Headquarters.

In this meeting, Dr. Mansour, Head of FRWO emphasized the need for continuous conservation of forests and said that FRWO established a national target for a continuous conservation program and in this regard, it is committed to put an end to wood smuggling in country’s forests. He described the different strategies of FRWO to intensify the conservation measures.

Based on this report; in this meeting, Abbas-Ali Nobakht, FRWO's Deputy for Forestry, presented a report on review of the progress made in the “Hyrcanian Sustainable Natural Resources Conservation Plan" (HSNRCP) and announced that the first phase of HSNRCP was finalized for implementation in the collaboration with High Council of FRWO and it is decided that in case of confirmation of the High Council, submit it to the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Department (NRWD) for implementation soon.
