Accelerating Implementation of IWM projects

Minister of Agriculture Jahad said that implementing IWM and aquifer recharge projects has been accelerated throughout the country and helped the flood prevention.

According to FRWO's website, Kazem Khavazi, Minister of Agriculture Jahad in the ceremony of unveiling of natural resources and integrated watershed management technological projects and signing a memorandum of understanding to establish a center for innovation and technology (CIT) of natural resources and integrated watershed management (IWM) held at FRWO Headquarters on Sunday said:"Although FRWO has targeted for the implementation of IWM projects in 800,000 hectares in 2020, however organisational creativity, has increased by 1.2 million hectares."

He referring to the flood control project in Quran Gate of Shiraz emphasized the effectiveness of IWM projects in reducing flash floods, and reiterated: "implementation of IWM projects helps the flood prevention, and reduces any future damages in the critical and high-risk areas of flood-prone provinces."
