Joint Meeting of FRWO and CORC Held at FRWO

Head of FRWO met with Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Central Organization for Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC). 

According to FRWO’s website, the joint meeting of FRWO and Central Organization for Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC) chaired by Dr. Masoud Mansour, Deputy Minister and Head of FRWO was held at FRWO Headquarters on Sunday with the agenda of expansion of cooperations between two organizations on strengthening local cooperatives, organizing local communities in the form of community-based cooperatives, review of the strategies for evolution of natural resource conservation capacity, strengthening capacities for sustainable management of land and natural resources.

In this meeting, Dr. Mansour stated that the existing capacities in two organizations should be identified. He listed the project of the medicinal herbs development and processing industry among the priority projects in the country and stated: “Development and the production of medicinal herbs is one of the most important projects that is supported by the resilient economy, because it relies on the national capabilities and capacities”. 

Mansour reiterated that wood farming can also be developed through participation of organizations and cooperatives.

Head of FRWO further called for the preparation of an operational memorandum for joint cooperation with the Central Organization for Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC) and in this regard, he suggested that a joint working-group be formed within the next two weeks.
