Statement by Head of FRWO on the Occasion of Arbor Day and the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Week
According to FRWO's website, Dr. Massoud Mansour, Head of FRWO issued a statement on the occasion of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Week as follows:
In the Name of Almighty
"Arbor Day" marking the beginning of the "Natural Resources and Watershed Management Week" (05-11 March), is a unique opportunity for nature and natural resources lovers in the country to welcome the spring by planting saplings based on an old tradition practiced from ancient times in this territory.
Undoubtedly, soil and water resources and vegetation cover are the integral part of sustainable development and theare pillars to food security that sustain life.
Therefore, we strongly beleive in the above notion at FRWO and are committed to carry out our outmost power in line with the "9 in 99" initiative, which includes nine innovative activities along with the four pivotal programmes including the IWM , desertification control, Logging Ban in Hyrcanian forests, and forest conservation in order to protect natural resources ampilfy the impact of actions taken by FRWO and provide better service to the steemed people of our country, through effective cooperation with the Executive, Judiciary and Legislative branches.
While commemorating the memory of victims of recent fires in Zagros forests who sacrificed their lives for natural resources, I would like to congratulate you all the Arbor Day and Natural Resources and Watershed Management Week.
I hope that in the light of Divine, we can take graet strides in preserving and reviving the natural resources of our beloved country as a God-pleasing national deed, and be a good trustee for our children and future generations.
