Protecting Forests and Natural resources is All Iranians Mandate

Pointing out that issues such as water, environment and natural resources management are among the major challenges facing Iran, the First Vice President said: “all individuals and peoples have the duty and responsibility to protect forests and natural resources and the life of the country depends on these issues. Therefore, succeeding the development plan in Iran is not possible without considering these challenges.

According to FRWO’s website, quoted from Government Information Center (GIC), Dr. Is’haq Jahangiri in a meeting on the occasion of Natural Resources and Watershed Management Week and in the ceremony of unveiling of natural resource management systems and vegetation cover map of the country, which was held at FRWO Headquarters stated: "Iran is located in an arid and semi-arid area, and in those years when precipitation decreases, Iran's life and economy are under pressure, and sometimes we face the phenomenon of water shortage stress in big cities."

Expressing regret over the decrease in precipitation in the current years, the First Vice President said: "This issue raises serious concerns and worries. Therefore the issue of water resources management is an important issue and the Government must find serious solutions for it."
