FRWO Launches Green National Initiative in Iran

FRWO Held a meeting of the planning committee of "Green National Initiative, Each Iranian Should Plant a Tree" with the presence of members of the Strategic Council.

According to FRWO’s website, Dr. Massoud Mansour, Head of FRWO  at the meeting said: "Green National Initiative is based on integration and maximum participation of people and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and about 70 organizations accompany FRWO in this initiative."

Mansour noted: "To have a green and strong Iran, we need to preserve water and soil resources and vegetation cover because these three elements are the main basis of food security, biology and vitality of the country."

Head of FRWO reiterated: "Nothing is as important as people's participation in natural resources management, and it is gratifying that a large number of people planted trees in Najafabad- Isfahan last week".

"Green National Initiative, the document of which has been prepared, should be upgraded to Headquarters, and orders of appointment should be issued for each member of the Strategic Council," Mansour said.

Hojjat-ol-Eslam Val Moslemin Seyyed Mostafa Tabatabaei-Nejad, Head of Vilayat -e- Faghih Representative at FRWO said:" Tree is one of the most productive bounties of God Almighty and tree planting was very important to the prophets.

He added:"In the Holy Quran and in 16 surahs of the holy book, the subject of trees and shrubs has been raised and in Surah Ar-Rahman it is stated that the trees prostrate before God".

Tabatabai-Nejad, stating that in the endowment letters, it is recommended to plant the mulberry tree, reminded: "The necessary care should be taken in planting a tree, and the type of climate of the region should be taken into account. It is very important what kind of tree should be planted in each region."
