FRWO and Qom Seminary Inked MoU

FRWO and Qom Female Seminary inked a MoU on Sunday aimed at promoting the culture of natural resources and the environment with a religious basis.

According to FRWO’s website, Masoud Manosour Head of Forests, Range, and Watershed management Organization (FRWO) and Hojjatoleslam Abdul-Karim Behjatpour, Head of Qom Female Seminary in a meeting which was held at FRWO Headquarter on Sunday, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to promote the culture of natural resources and the environment on a religious basis.

In this meeting, Mansour stated: "As the Supreme Leader emphasized, the soil issue is more important than water issue, because water is a renewable element. However, it takes 700 years to form a centimeter of soil. So this great asset is a unique capital with no alternative."

"For the biological and food security of the country, we need to preserve water and soil resources and vegetation cover because these three elements are the main basis of food security, biology and vitality of the country," Mansour said.

Based on this report, referring to the scientific and cultural capacities and capabilities of Qom Female Seminary to propagate religious teachings, Abdul-Karim Behjatpour stressed the need to promote culture and preserve natural resources and use the seminary's capacity to spread Islamic teachings about the environment and natural resources vital importance.

Head of Qom Seminary- women branch reiterated: "Our holy prophets were farmers and planted trees, and Ali (AS) established many groves and proved that Shia is a life-giving school."

He concluded: "Today, one of the best strategies is on the clergy and women to enter the scene aimed at preserving and developing natural resources management as a social responsibility, and to try to establish this link between natural resources management and the seminary."
